Budget-2015

[br]The 2015’s Budget is scheduled to be tabled in Parliament on Oct 10.

Economically speaking being the final budget under the 10th Malaysia Plan (10MP), it provides allocations for the remaining programmes and projects under the plan. Plus preparation by government to a smooth transition into the 11th Malaysia Plan, so this will be final push in transforming the country into an advanced and high-income nation by 2020.

Despite GST Act 2014 being released on 9 June 2014. To date the most crucial list of exempt supply and zero-rated list has not be issued.
Rumours start to question as to whether there will be a change in plan, such as a change in GST implementation date and policy on which industry falls within exempt supply and zero rated supply.

FAQ : ARE WE HAVING OUR ANNUAL BUDGET SEMINAR ?

wait-and-see

AS AT NOW, WE ARE TAKING “WAIT-AND-SEE” APPROACH TOWARDS BUDGET 2015.

Budget seminar has always been the “must attend” event for most consultants, accountants and business owners. This is largely due to the vast amount of income tax planning, special deduction and the much-anticipated changes in tax law .

This year, majority attention of the government and businesses are largely skewed towards preparation for GST. With GST concerns still remain partly uncertain.

After further discussion with our speaker, Dr Choong, at this juncture we do not expect any substantial chance in income tax and RPGT, hence we will adopt a “wait and see approach”.

We will first assess the status and extend of updates in relation to income tax, GST and RPGT changes arising from Budget 2015 after tomorrow, thereof think hard whether there is a real need to conduct our annual “Tax Planning on Budget 2015”.

TENTATIVELY DO NOTE THAT if we were to organise the “Tax Planning on Budget 2015”, it will be conducted on 18 November 2014 in The Gardens Hotel.
Do tentatively blocked your date for this important event.
