GST Registration Rise To 93,078 As Of Oct 16

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 17 (Bernama) — The number of companies registered for the Goods and Services Tax (GST) stood at 93,078 as of Oct 16, an increase of 2,344 from the previous day, said the Royal Malaysian Customs Department.

The latest data showed that more companies were registering for the GST to meet the Dec 31, 2014 deadline, said the department in a statement.The government’s target is to get 140,000 companies to be registered under the new tax structure which will be implemented on April 1, 2015.
